300 pot plants in home nets charges for city man

A Fort Wayne man faces felony charges after police found more than 300 marijuana plants growing in his house in June, court documents said.

A tip led the Allen County Drug Task Force to raid Troy Gongaware’s house at 432 Watkins St., near Swinney Park, on June 5, according to authorities.

In the basement, officers discovered more than 300 plants, many over 5 feet tall, court documents stated.

Gongaware, 27, was charged Friday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and felony counts of maintaining a common nuisance and marijuana possession. He had not yet been arrested Friday evening.
