Delivery driver holdups bring 12 years in prison

A Fort Wayne man with a penchant for holding up food delivery drivers received a 12-year prison sentence in Allen Superior Court on Friday.

Ronald Barrett, 19, of the 4800 block of Christofer Lane, robbed two delivery drivers – one from Pizza Hut, the other from China Garden – in late October and early November of last year.

Investigators believed at the time that Barrett worked with another man to commit the robberies. Barrett eventually pleaded guilty to felony counts of robbery and aiding in robbery.

He received 119 days of jail credit for time already served and will also serve two years of probation upon his release, according to court records.
