Ice Chips

  • Penalty shot foiled, K's tied at 2
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Komets and Kalamazoo Wings are tied at 2 after two periods at Wings Stadium.
  • Strong start for K's; Tam out for awhile
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Komets tallied 10 of the first 13 shots on goal, and they had the first period's only goal, as they had a strong first period at Wings Stadium.
  • Komets pregame primer
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Greetings from Wings Stadium, where the colossal scoreboard (referred to lovingly by me as the Scorebrick) is still a little slanted, and the ice is orange tonight in honor of Halloween.

I no longer believe

Coming into tonight, I felt like there were two people who still believed the Komets would make the playoffs -- me and Colin Chaulk.

Well, I've changed my mind.

After two periods at Memorial Coliseum, the Komets trail the Florida Everblades 3-1. The Komets seem to be coasting to me, with the exception of a few players.

I know the Komets were 3-1-1 coming into this game. But would they have won any of those games had Jeff Deslauriers not been amazing? Nope.

If this is the most they could get up for this game, how could they get it together to leapfrog three other teams?
