FORT WAYNE – All of that snow is likely to melt in the next few days. With the possibility of heavy rains in the forecast, areas of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio might have flooding next week.
Conditions are forming that could bring 1 to 2 inches of rain to the region Sunday through Monday, the National Weather Service in northern Indiana said.
Its outlook was issued for the following counties:
- Indiana – Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass , DeKalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaGrange, LaPorte, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley.
- Ohio – Allen, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Williams.
If heavy rains indeed occur, the weather service said, some areas could see “significant” flooding next week.
