About 3 p.m. Thursday the Rev. Bill McGill looked out of his window and pondered that it was the 37th day of his 40-day fast to draw attention to violence in the community, and there had been no civilian-on-civilian homicides in Fort Wayne.The Bluffton Police Department is warning drivers not to drink and drive during the March Madness and St. Patrick’s Day season.
Beginning Friday, the department will begin a “high-visibility crackdown on impaired and dangerous driving,” according to a statement issued by the department.
A number of Indiana law enforcement agencies also are taking part in the initiative known as “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” which gets under way this weekend.
The effort will continue through March 24.
