Indiana rounded out its football coaching staff Wednesday.

Hoosiers coach Kevin Wilson announced in a news release that William Inge will be the team's co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Assistant head coach Doug Mallory will continue to be the defensive coordinator and oversee safeties.

Inge joins Indiana after serving as the Buffalo Bills' assistant defensive line coach last year. He was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Buffalo before joining the Bills, and his 12-year coaching career also included stints as linebackers coach at Cincinnati (2008-09) and San Diego State (2006-07).

"We are pleased to add someone with William's coaching pedigree to our staff," Wilson said.

"William has worked with some of the top coaches in our industry – Chan Gailey, Dave Wannstedt, Brian Kelly, Jeff Quinn and Chuck Long – at the collegiate level and in the NFL, where our players aspire to one day play. He is a Midwest guy with Big Ten ties and there is no doubt he is the right fit for our staff.

"William stood out in what was a deep and qualified pool of candidates. We are happy to welcome William, his wife, Rae Ann, and their children to Indiana."

Inge played for Iowa from 1993 to 1996, and the St. Louis native was the Hawkeyes recruiting coordinator and graduate assistant from 1998 to 2000.

"I am really looking forward to this opportunity," Inge said. "Coach Wilson has proven he builds, shapes and molds young men into not only great football players, but great adults.

"It is clear with his leadership and guidance this program is headed in the right direction. I am excited to help build a great defense and continue the upward trend."
