  • 8 inches of overnight rain floods east-central Indiana
    Heavy rains that dumped more than half a foot of rain overnight triggered widespread flooding Friday in some central and northern Indiana counties.
  • 4- to 6-inch rains reported in area
    Heavy rains of 4 to more than 6 inches were reported in parts of northeast Indiana through Friday morning, the National Weather Service said.

Initial snow totals reported

Four inches of snow have been reported in Silver Lake, the National Weather Service said tonight.

In a local storm report, the weather service gave these snow amounts as of about 4 to 6 p.m.:

2.8 inches -- Near Warsaw;

2.5 inches -- Fort Wayne, Tri-Lakes;

1.0 inches -- Near Hudson;

0.8 inches -- Near Winona Lake.

In addition, light freezing rain was reported in Middle Point, Ohio, the weather service said.
