  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

Mastodons sweep player of week awards

Outfielder Brittany Kachur and pitcher Miranda Kramer nailed down the Summit League player of the week awards for their performances last week.

Kachur hit .833 over the weekend (5 of 6), had five RBI along with a run scored and stolen base.

She is tied for the Summit League lead with a .500 batting average (13 of 26).

Kramer, meanwhile, gave up five hits over 12 innings in a pair of pitching victories.

Part of the performance was a 16-strikeout game against Lipscomb in which she gave up three hits and an earned run.
