Ants beat Springfield in 2 OTs

It took nearly three hours, but the Mad Ants lost a 17-point lead, came back to tie the game with 7.8 seconds left in regulation, then rode the hot, late hand of Tony Mitchell for a 119-110 double-overtime victory over Springfield on Friday at Memorial Coliseum.

Sitting out all but three minutes of the first half with three fouls, Mitchell banged in three three-pointers in the second overtime to carry the Ants past the Armor.

The all-star forward finished with 23 points - 16 of which came in the two overtimes.

Ron Howard, who scored 22 points in the first half, finished with 27.
