A man was caught trying to rob a Huntington drugstore Sunday afternoon, according to Huntington police.

The man came into the Walgreens at 1804 N. Jefferson St. and threatened pharmacy employees with some sort of weapon, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the store at 12:30 p.m., and when they showed up, the would-be robber was trying to leave with prescription medication, police said.

Officers, with help from people in the store, subdued the man and took him into custody.

There were no reports of injuries, police said.

The man, identified as Daniel Lee Scott, 39, of Huntington, was booked into the Huntington County Jail on an initial charge of armed robbery. He was being held without bail Monday.
