Still no ID in city's latest homicide

The Allen County Coroner's Office has ruled that the shooting death of a man early Saturday in east Fort Wayne was a homicide.

The results of an autopsy showed that the man died from a gunshot wound or wounds, the coroner's office said.

At 1:20 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to 3017 McDonald St., near Edsall Avenue. The victim had been shot just inside the entryway of the home, and he died at the scene, police said.

Investigators have not established a motive, but they do not believe the shooting occurred during a home invasion or robbery, police said. No arrests have been made, and police have not released any information about suspects.

The man's death is the sixth homicide this year in Fort Wayne and Allen County, the coroner's office said.
