Firefighter saves puppies

Associated Press
With fellow firefighters tending the trucks firefighter Luke Mohney takes a moment to check on six Havanese puppies he rescued from a burning home in Walla Walla, Wash., on Thursday. Although the upper levels of the home were engulfed in flames, the fire hadn't reached the basement where the puppies were trapped. Mohney gathered the frightened puppies, placed them in a half-filled laundry basket then handed them off to firefighter Jeff Harwood while he searched for more signs of life. No humans died in the blaze but an adult Havanese dog perished.
