Liquor shop on Lake robbed, worker tied

Two men, one armed with a silver gun, robbed a liquor store late Thursday in northeast Fort Wayne, according to police.

The men came into the Cap n’ Cork at Lake Avenue and Coliseum Boulevard North, bound the clerk’s hands with zip ties and made him lie on the floor, said officer Chris Felton, a city police spokesman.

After grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash, the robbers left out the front door and headed south. The clerk then managed to break free of the zip ties on his own, Felton said.

The holdup was reported at 11:57 p.m. Officers, with help from a police dog, searched unsuccessfully for the robbers.
