2nd Rx drug holdup nets 3 years

After robbing the same pharmacy twice, a 20-year-old Fort Wayne man was sentenced Friday to three years in prison and three years’ probation.

Beren R. Lemberg, of the 4900 block of Southlane Road, pleaded guilty to the October robbery of a Stellhorn Road Walgreens store, admitting to making off with fentanyl, methadone and cash.

He robbed the same store again a few weeks later.

As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors to the single count of robbery in one case, the second case was dismissed. Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull sentenced Lemberg to eight years in prison but ordered five years suspended and three years on probation.

She ordered him to spend the first six months of his probation period on electronic home monitoring.

He must also pay $1,885 in restitution.
