2A semistate pregame

Pregame here at Warsaw for the Class 2A girls basketball semistate between Bishop Luers and Eastern of Greentown.

The Comets' crowd is about twice as big as that of the Knights.

Maybe Luers' fans are spoiled, and who could blame them? Luers leads the state with six state championships and is going for a fourth straight appearances in the state finals.

The Knights were state runners-up in 2010 and 2012, with a state title in 2011.

Interesting, Luers coach Denny Renier is attempting to make it to his fourth state finals - in his fourth year as head coach of the Knights.

Eastern, on the otherhand, is in its third semistate appearance with no trips to the state finals.

High School Sports Editor Greg Jones on prep sports.
