Softball players honored

IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.May 15, 2013

It's another award for women's basketball player Amanda Hyde.

Earlier this week she was named College Sports Madness Summit League player of the week.

Recently, she was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Women's Basketball Division I second team. The award was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The junior forward who leads the Summit League with a 19.0 scoring average also has a 4.0 grade point average in mathematics teaching.

Hyde, who also adds 4.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, tied a school record with a 43-point game against Southern Illinois. It ranks tied for second for the most points in a single game this season by an NCAA Division I women's player.
