  • AHL could be coming to town
There is a possibility the American Hockey League's Lake Erie Monsters and Grand Rapids Griffins will play an exhibition game at Memorial Coliseum on Oct. 4.
  • Szydlowski returns to Komets
Right wing Shawn Szydlowski has agreed to terms and will return to the Komets in 2014-15, the club announced today.
  • A goalie guess; look at lines
Roman Will would seem to be the most likely fit to wind up in the ECHL as a goalie, but he's spent the last two seasons in the Czech Republic after an impressive junior career in Moncton. If I had to guess, it would be him.

The savior is here

Relax, everyone, Michael Jordan is here.

The Komets signed the 5-foot-9 defenseman, who is 163 pounds, and he will be in the lineup tonight against the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Jordan, who is from Pittsburgh, had four goals and 10 points in 21 games this season with Danville of the Federal Hockey League. He's played three games at this level, with Allen of the CHL last season.

I don't know much about the guy, so I'm not trying to knock him. But this certainly isn't the splash we all thought was coming this week, is it?

The Komets have lost five straight.
