Mitchell wins slam dunk contest

Mad Ants 6-foot-6 forward Tony Mitchell won the NBA D-League Slam Dunk contest during halftime of Saturday's D-League All-Star Game in Houston.

Mitchell, who defeated Idaho's Josh Owens in the finals of the dunk contest, and Ants teammate Ron Howard played in the game. Their team, the Futures, lost to the Prospects, 139-125.

Mitchell was 1 of 7 from the floor, had three rebounds, six assists and two points. Howard scored 16 points on 8 of 12 shooting, and added five assists.

Included in Mitchell's dunk repertoire was a pass from Howard, who was sitting in the stands, and a backward dunk that netted him 10s from all the judges.
