Mitchell in All-Star Game

Leave it to the D-League for a last-minute audible.

Mad Ants swingman Tony Mitchell, who was in Houston to participate in the NBA D-League All-Star Game slam dunk contest, will be doing more than dunking.

The 6-foot-6 Mitchell has been assigned to play in the game, taking the place of Tulsa 66ers' Jeremy Lamb.

Lamb was with Tulsa, but was recalled by the Oklahoma City Thunder, which left the opening for Saturday's game.

In 30 games this season, Mitchell is averaging 18.2 points, 6.4 rebounds an 2.4 assists.

He joins Ants teammate Ron Howard on the team.

Steve Warden blogs all things Mad Ants.
