FORT WAYNE – It didn’t quite have the effect of the Super Bowl blackout, but Norwell shot the lights out in its 110-48 home victory over South Adams on Tuesday.
The Knights (12-5) connected on 28 of 38 two-point shots and hit 13 of 27 threes for a combined 41 of 65 (63 percent) from the floor.
For good measure, they were 15 of 15 from the free throw line.
Josh VanMeter, 10 of 16 from the floor, led Norwell with 28 points, Cam Denney (7 of 8) had 20, David Vogel added 14 and Drew Shively scored 10..
Chase Moser was the only South Adams player in double figures with 20.
It was the 14th consecutive loss for the Starfires (2-14).
NEW HAVEN 78, CANTERBURY 61: Steve McElvene scored 23 points, V.J. Beachem had 20 and Monte Stevenson added 17 as Bulldogs (14-4) won their 10th consecutive game.
New Haven’s last loss was Jan. 5, when it lost 43-42 to DeKalb.
The Bulldogs tied with Homestead for the NHC championship.
Trent VanHorn led Canterbury (10-7) with 30 points, and Chase Moyle had 14.
WARSAW 55, SOUTH BEND CLAY 54: Host Warsaw outscored Clay 18-13 in the final period for its come-from-behind win. Jordan Stookey led the Tigers (10-8) with 14 points.
BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 45, BELLMONT 40: Riley Reimschisel scored 25 points to pace host Blackhawk.
Parker Zeser led the Braves with 13 points.
DEKALB 49, EASTSIDE 40: Jayden Lilly’s 15 points and seven rebounds led the visiting Barons, who also got 11 points from P.J. Dean.
Cole Hartman scored 16 for Eastside and Adison Daub had 15.
WESTVIEW 47, WAWASEE 29: Host Wawasee was held scoreless in the first quarter against Westview, which owned an 8-0 lead after the first period.
LAKELAND 97.4, WARSAW 96.05: Lakeland’s Samantha Gieseking won the beam and the all-around title with a 33.65 in her home meet.
