Key matchup: The forwards will be in the thick of it again as Notre Dame and DePaul square off for the second time this season. Cooley, the Irish’s 6-foot-9 senior, had 26 points and 16 rebounds in the teams’ first game. Cooley leads the Big East in rebounding and is 14th in the conference in scoring. Melvin, the Blue Devils’ 6-8 junior, had 13 points and 10 rebounds in the first game. He is No. 8 in the Big East in scoring, averaging 16.3 points, and is No. 4 in rebounding.

The skinny: Today is the second of two games between the teams in a two-week span. Notre Dame defeated DePaul 79-71 in overtime Feb. 2 on the road. ... Notre Dame rose four spots in the Associated Press Top 25 poll thanks to its 104-101 five-overtime home win over Louisville on Saturday. The Irish were No. 25 last week. ... The Irish lead the all-time series with the Demons 59-44.
