CVS/pharmacy: Settlement was to avoid delay, expense of litigation

Statement as issued Wednesday by CVS/pharmacy:

CVS/pharmacy has reached an agreement with the State of Indiana to resolve allegations related to the state’s Medicaid Restricted Card program, now known as the Indiana Right Choices Program, for claims submitted between the years 2001 to 2007. The Company has not admitted any wrongdoing, and has agreed to settle this matter to avoid the delay and expense of protracted litigation. The Company will pay the State $400,000 to resolve any alleged overpayments by Medicaid and any expenses incurred during the investigation of this matter.
