Greetings from Cincy

CINCINNATI -- It's amazing how time can change your perspective on things.

I'm at U.S. Bank Arena for the Komets' game against the Cincinnati Cyclones. The last time I was here was 1999, in the old IHL, and the building was known as The Crown.

It felt so big and modern then.

Now, it feels old and dingy.

The arena was built in 1975 -- hey, it's a month older than me -- and when I was last here, I remember thinking that the press box seemed miles away. Now, it's closer than the press box at Memorial Coliseum, which has since had a renovation.

They have the upper level tarped with plastic. That's never a good sign. Capacity is 6,955.

Anyway, here's hoping I see some Cincinnati Stingers uniforms -- love them!! -- and that the Komets give me something to write about.

The Komets are coming off losses in two of their last three games, both at Loveland, Colo.
