There's a looming decision on the horizon for the Komets regarding their veterans.

  • Because of a death in the family, goaltender Charlie Effinger will not be with the team in Cincinnati on Tuesday. Marco Cousineau, however, has been reassigned to the Komets by Norfolk of the American Hockey League. Larkin Saalfrank, the IPFW goalie who played for the team in the preseason, will be the backup.
  • The game will be on 1380 AM and 106.7 FM because of the State of the Union address.
  • Jamie Milam will make his return to the lineup. Scott Kishel (hand) will not play.
