After game, Ants to hit road

You gotta love the D-League schedule at times.

The Ants beg for weekend games at Memorial Coliseum, and so they got one tonight with a 7:30 p.m. start against Rio Grande Valley.

Since the game won't end until 10 p.m. or so, it'll be 10:15, 10:30 before the players get on the bus for a five-hour ride to Des Moines, Iowa, where they will play Saturday night. That should make for some fine basketball then.

Hey, at least they'll gain an hour going west.

When the Ants (14-16) play Rio Grande Valley (17-10) tonight. Fort Wayne will be without reserve forward Chris Porter, who is out with a sore back.

Also, it's Star Wars promotion night at the Coliseum tonight - perfect for a team whose leading scorer is Luke.

That would be Harangody, just in case you haven't been paying attention.

Steve Warden blogs all things Mad Ants.
