    Mad Ants guard Ron Howard and center Tommy Smith accepted invitations to the NBA Development League Elite Mini Camp, which started Monday and runs through Tuesday in Chicago.

    It wasn't only the Mad Ants that made 2012-13 their best season; the rest of the NBA Development League had a record-setting year, as well.

Ants lose second straight

The Mad Ants suffered their second consecutive loss at home Friday in a 125-103 loss to Rio Grande Valley at Memorial Coliseum.

The Ants (14-17) fell behind 9-0, led briefly at 32-31 early in the second quarter, then were outscored 70-56 in the second half.

The Mad Ants, led by Tony Mitchell's 27 points, visit Iowa on Saturday night. Ron Howard added 20 for the Ants. Doron Lamb scored 18.
