Meth warrant served west of downtown

FORT WAYNE – A raid on house just west of downtown Thursday ended in multiple meth-related charges.

The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Emergency Services Team, Meth Lab Suppression Team and Vice/Narcotics Division served a search warrant about 10 a.m. at an apartment in the 900 block of West Jefferson Boulevard, according to a written statement issued by police.

It said a man identified as David J. Heineman was found inside the apartment. He was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of precursors with intent to sell, possession of 2 or more meth precursors, meth possession, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond was set at $313,250, the police said.
