IU travels to Illinois

Indiana will play as the country's No. 1-ranked team for the first time since it lost 88-86 in overtime to Butler on Dec. 15 in Indianapolis.

The Hoosiers (20-2, 8-1 Big Ten), who were the top-ranked team for the first five weeks of the season, play at Illinois (15-8, 2-7) at 7 tonight.

IU enters tonight's game on a five-game winning streak after knocking off then-No. 1 Michigan 81-73 at home Saturday.

The Illini have lost their last three games, and have lost six of their last seven.

Illinois has struggled on defense, especially in the second half.

In Illinois' 80-75 loss at Michigan State, the Spartans shot 87.5 percent in the second half. In Sunday's 74-68 home loss to Wisconsin, the Badgers shot 55.6 percent in the second half.

The Hoosiers lead the Big Ten in scoring, averaging 83.8 points, and they have two of the conference's top 10 scorers. Cody Zeller is fourth in scoring, averaging 16.3 points, and Victor Oladipo is 10th, averaging 14 points.
