Illinois stuns IU

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Indiana’s nightmares at the Big Ten’s other Assembly Hall continued Thursday.

The Hoosiers let a 13-point second-half lead disappear and Illinois’ Tyler Griffey scored off an inbounds pass with 0.9 second left to give the Illini a 74-72 win.

The Illini fans stormed the court after the layup held up to the officials’ review.Indiana (20-3, 8-2 Big Ten) had moved into No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 on Monday, but the Hoosiers stay there will likely not be long now.

Illinois (16-8, 3-7) has defeated IU in 10 of the last 11 meetings inside the Illini’s Assembly Hall.
