Grammys to visit Newtown

Children from Newtown who recently recorded a version of “Over the Rainbow” will be featured as part of the Grammy Awards broadcast.

Newtown Music Project producer Tim Hayes says “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest will do a live segment via satellite with the children for Sunday’s red-carpet programming.

He says the children will be interviewed by Seacrest and interact live with Carly Rae Jepson, perhaps doing some of her hit, “Call Me Maybe.”

Actor to be honored

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has been named Man of the Year by Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals.

Sutherland will be roasted and receive his ceremonial pudding pot at a ceremony scheduled for Friday.

The 46-year-old Sutherland has been in dozens of films but is perhaps best known for his role as Jack Bauer in the television series “24,” for which he won Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy awards. He is currently starring in the television show “Touch.”

Last year’s Man of the Year was Jason Segel. The 2013 Woman of the Year, Marion Cotillard, was honored last week.

Greer penning book

Judy Greer is the latest celebrity with some funny stories to tell.

Doubleday announced Tuesday that it would publish Greer’s humorous essay collection “I Don’t Know What You Know Me From: Confessions of a Co-Star.” The book is scheduled to be released in 2014.
