Bishop Luers senior TyVel Jemison had to wait to commit to Purdue and, as it turned out, to sign as well. But Jemison signed with the Boilermakers' football program after all, making it official Wednesday at the school's cafeteria.
Academics hindered Jemison along the recruiting trail, making for some nervous moments for the defensive back.
"I was anxious to find out," Jemison said. "(New Purdue coach Darrell Hazell) wanted to find out what my plan was to make it to Purdue and be eligible to play and also to make sure I was the right fit for Purdue."
