Ants easily take care of Canton

The Mad Ants' 94-81 win over Canton on Monday at Memorial Coliseum was not the best game the Ants have played this season, but it might have been the most important to date.

The Ants were sloppy at times; lethargic for a few brief moments; and on occasion didn't play great interior defense. But the win keeps them close to Canton in the East Division race, and especially keeps them near Erie in the hunt for the final playoff spot.

Tony Mitchell, the team's 6-foot-8 forward, was a mismatch nightmare for the Charge most of the night.

Canton first had a guard on Mitchell, but the guard couldn't contain Mitchell. To counter, Canton tried to switch whenever Mitchell had the ball up top, but none of Canton's big players could keep up. Consequently, Mitchell scored a season-high 32 points.

Ants forward Luke Harangody slightly hobbled off the floor midway through the fourth quarter. When asked about the former Notre Dame standout, Ants coach Duane Ticknor said that Harangody was just beat up and tired. As it was, Harangody finished with 20 points.
