Irish in the polls

Notre Dame's three straight victories lifted the Irish back into the men's Associated Press Top 25.

The Irish (18-4, 6-3 Big East), which plays at No. 9 Syracuse at 7 tonight, checked in at No. 25 in the AP poll, which was released Monday.

Notre Dame rebounded from a stretch in which it lost three of four games to score wins over South Florida, Villanova and DePaul.

Also on Monday, the Big East named Notre Dame forward Cameron Biedscheid the conference's rookie of the week. Biedscheid averaged 12.5 points in the Irish's 65-60 win over Villanova on Wednesday and 79-71 overtime win over DePaul on Saturday.

Irish forward Jack Cooley was named to the Big East honor roll after averaging 21.5 points and 16 rebounds last week.

The Notre Dame women's team remained at No. 2 in the women's AP Top 25. The Irish (20-1, 8-0) have won 15 games in a row, and the play at Villanova at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
