Statement as issued Monday by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence:

"I send my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of a great Hoosier church leader, Bishop Emeritus John D'Arcy. His commitment and dedication to the Catholic church and Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend spanned more than two decades and his courageous leadership will be greatly missed."
