A man was arrested on a drunken-driving charge early Saturday after his vehicle rear-ended a womans car – injuring her – while she was delivering newspapers in Steuben County, police said.
About 4:10 a.m. Saturday, Brittany Gray, 24, of Coldwater, Mich., had stopped at a home in the 2200 block of north Indiana 327 when a northbound car driven by Daniel Hose, 24, of Wolcottville struck her Ford Escape, police said.
Hose, who told police he did not see Grays car at the edge of the road, was later arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after undergoing a blood alcohol test at the Steuben County Jail, police said.
The collision sent Hoses Pontiac Grand Prix off the east side of the road where it struck a tree and came to rest in the middle of the road facing west.
Gray was taken to Cameron Hospital in Angola for injuries to her shoulder and leg. A passenger in her vehicle, Brandon Heiney, 23, of Coldwater Mich., refused medical treatment at the scene. Hose also refused medical treatment at the scene.
