  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

Women's track team gets five wins

Led by Katy Moore tying her own school record in the high jump, the IPFW women's track team claimed five wins in the Mastodon Invitational on Saturday at IPFW.

Moore cleared 5 feet, 3 inches to win the event. It was the sixth time she has reached the height.

IPFW finished one-two in three events: the weight throw, 800-meter run and shot put.

Kaeleigh Porter won the throw with a toss of 48-1, and Kayle zink was second at 47-9.

In the 800, Kayla Boyes had a personal-best time of 2:23.32, and Julie Jeszenszky was second.

The shot put was won by Rachel Dincoff with a 47-3 1/2, and Kayla Zink was second.

Andrea Bell won the 3,000-meter run in 10:32.

While the IPFW men's team competed, the only top finisher was Cody Sengthong, who was fifth in the 3,000-meter run.

In action Friday was the men's tennis team, which lost to Cleveland State, 5-2, and beat Grace, 7-0.
