They took down one division leader on Thursday. But two in three nights was too much to ask for the Mad Ants.
The new D-League East Division polesitter, Canton (18-11), took care of the Ants 90-85 Saturday in Canton, Ohio, outscoring the Mad Ants in every quarter but the last. Kyle Gibson led a balanced attack for the Charge – six players scored in double figures – with 20 points.
The Ants (13-15) were their own worst enemy offensively, shooting just 38.7 percent (36 of 93) and making just 3 of 15 from beyond the three-point arc. Tony Mitchell led the Ants with 23 points and eight rebounds, and Luke Harangody chalked up another double-double with 20 and 13.
Outside of them, however, no one hit double figures.
