Howard out Thursday

As the Mad Ants performed their pre-game stretch, then shoot-around, guard Ron Howard sat in the front row, just off the floor, with an ice bag wrapped around his right knee.

"I'm not playing tonight," said Howard, who has been out of the lineup since injuring his knee Jan. 18 in Bakersfield, Calif.

The Ants will play Maine today at Memorial Coliseum, beginning at 7 p.m.

Although there were no ligament tears, Howard said he bruised the inside of his knee, including his knee cap.

"After I first did it, I couldn't walk down stairs," Howard said. "Now it's a lot better. I can run now. I still have trouble moving to my left."

Also not playing is Anthony Richardson, who is out with the flu.

Indiana Pacers center Miles Plumlee was on the floor early, and is expected to play.
