Ants could be for real

The Mad Ants showed some grit Thursday night.

The team fell behind visiting Maine by nine points early in the second quarter at Memorial Coliseum. There have been times and teams when the Ants might have folded, but instead, they came back to take a halftime lead, held their own nine-point lead with five minutes remaining, and eventually won, 115-109.

Anthony Harris, who has taken over the point guard job for an injured Ron Howard, handed out 17 assists and had just two turnovers.

Luke Harangody, despite a miserable start shooting the ball, finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds.

Darryl Partin, whose three-point shooting kept the Ants in the game early, finished with 20 points - 18 coming from behind the arc.

And Sadiel Rojas had 13 points, five steals and six rebounds.

Steve Warden blogs all things Mad Ants.
