Sirota tossed; game tied

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Komets out-shot the Kalamazoo Wings 13-8 in the second period, but there was no scoring, and it's still tied at 1 at Wings Stadium.

The biggest development was that the Wings' Nick Sirota, who scored their first-period goal, was ejected for butt-ending Daniel Maggio, after Maggio had roughed him up a bit.

The Komets' power-play unit remains dreadful. I'm not sure why don't throw Brandon Marino back on the point. It could only help.
