Flood watch issued

FORT WAYNE – There is potential for significant flooding Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in some areas of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, the National Weather Service in northern Indiana announced Tuesday.

Today's rain is expected to intensify tonight, the weather service said, with snowmelt and frozen ground swelling rivers, streams, lakes and ponds.

A flood watch has been issued from 10 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday morning for Allen, Adams, DeKalb, Steuben and Wells counties in Indiana and Williams, Defiance, Paulding and Van Wert counties in Ohio.

Some areas could see thunderstorms, the weather service said.

Winter weather is expected to return Wednesday.
