Sheriffs’ group offers college scholarships

ANGOLA – The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association is offering college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies.

Steuben County Sheriff Tim Troyer announced last week about 40 of the $500 scholarships will be awarded to qualifying students throughout the state.

To qualify, applicants must be Indiana residents and current members of the sheriffs’ association or a dependent child or grandchild. They also must attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field and enroll as a full-time student with at least 12 hours.

Applications are available from high school counselors or can be downloaded at www.steubensheriff.com. Completed applications must be received by April 1.
