Norwell girls capture NHC crown

Taylor Wilson scored 18 points in Kendallville and the Norwell girls basketball team defeated East Noble 68-37 to clinch the NHC title.

Paige Frisch added 15 points for the Knights (17-3, 7-0 ).

East Noble (11-7, 4-3) was led by nine points from Morgan Allen.

FAIRFIELD 56, FREMONT 45: The Falcons got 13 points from Haley Brown in Fremont. The Eagles were paced by Miranda White’s 12 points.

GARRETT 44, HERITAGE 30: In Garrett, Taylor Smith scored 13 points for the Railroaders, and Katie Wisel added 12.

ADAMS CENTRAL 38, SOUTH ADAMS 33: Abby Busse scored 18 as the Flying Jets won in Monroe. Dzenzja Ahmetovic scored 14 for the Starfires.

CARROLL 65, BELLMONT 45: Madison Peterson’s 24 points paced the Chargers in Decatur. The game was tied before a 33-17 run in the second and third quarters.

SOUTHERN WELLS 57, WOODLAN 44: Ashton Prible’s 16 points led the Raiders in Poneto. Carissa Carter added 13 points.

BEDFORD NORTH LAWRENCE 63, SOUTH SIDE 39: The Stars improved to 19-0 while the Archers fell to 17-3 and had an eight-game winning streak snapped.

Boys basketball

CONCORDIA 68, CANTERBURY 57: D.J. McCall scored 23 points for the Cadets at home. Trent VanHorn had 23 points for the Cavaliers.

WAWASEE 63, LAKELAND 55: Alex Clark scored 19 point for the Warriors in LaGrange. Lakeland’s Spencer Mortola had 15 points.

NORTHROP 70, MARION 56: Bryson Scott scored 28 points for the Bruins at home.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 78, NORTHFIELD 41: Noah Reed’s 19 points and five rebounds paced the Vikings in Huntington.

BOWMAN ACADEMY 94, BISHOP LUERS 78: James Blackmon Jr. scored 41 points and had nine rebounds at Luers.

NLC CHAMPIONSHIPS: In Dunlap, Northridge won the Concord-hosted meet with 511.50 points and Warsaw was second with 428. Wawasee took third with 314.50.
