    In three matches over the last 12 months, this is the quickest Carroll has been able to get out of the Homestead gym with a win. The Chargers beat Homestead 25-17, 25-22, 25-19 on Tuesday in a Class 4A regional.

    Concordia defeated Fairfield 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-7) in the Class 3A volleyball regional to advance to the semistate semifinals. Tionna Williams led the Cadets with eight aces, 13 kills and 11 digs.

East Noble rules sectional

In Topeka, East Noble got eight first-place finishes – six more than any other team – and won the Westview Sectional with 267.5 points Saturday.

Fremont was second with 186, while Angola was third with 131.

Fourth-place DeKalb was the only other team with multiple winners.

East Noble got first place at 106 pounds from Garrett Pepple, 113 from Connor Knapp, 120 from Sterling Lutter, 126 from Brennen Story, 145 from Tyler Housholder, 160 from Jesse Maley, 220 from Brandon Joest and 285 from Drake DeMuyt.

Fremont’s first-place finisher was Tylor Willms at 138 pounds.

NEW HAVEN SECTIONAL: The host Bulldogs had a meet-best five first-place finishes to claim 218 points and the title over Leo (193.5), Snider (166.5) and Woodlan (111.5).

New Haven’s first-place competitors were Owen Doster at 113 pounds, Nate Miller at 120, Reese Sieger at 138, Luis Chacon at 170 and Brad Berghoff at 182.

In first place for Leo were Aaron Eicher at 152, Davis Neuhouser at 160 and Nolan Wilson at 220.

Snider got wins from Luis Marquez at 106, Bobby Humphrey at 126 and Ruben Holcomb at 285.

PLYMOUTH SECTIONAL: Host Plymouth won with 216 points, followed by Culver (200.5) and Tippecanoe Valley (144).

For the Vikings, Garrett Bell was second at 160 pounds, Devin Childers was second at 132 and Jaron Kidd was second at 195.

JAY COUNTY SECTIONAL: Adams Central finished with 250.5 points to edge second-place Bellmont (210.5).
