Defending Class A state girls basketball state champions could enter the postseason on a two-game losing streak. But those two games will come against two of the bigger schools in the state, as well as strong programs, in Hamilton Southeastern and Carmel.
The Cavaliers lost at 4A No. 9 Hamilton Southeastern (17-3) 72-69 and play at Carmel (10-8) on Thursday.
Carmel's school size is 4,777, while Hamilton Southeastern is 3,003.
Canterbury's total is 337.
Last year's Canterbury team won 21 straight games en route to the program's fourth state title in five years.
The Cavaliers will go up against Blackhawk Christian on Feb. 6 at Canterbury in the first game of the 2013 sectional.
