South Side girls rout Northrop, claim SAC championship

Lakyn Gulley sanke five three-pointers and finished with a game-high 15 points as the South Side girls basketball team defeated Northrop 65-29 on Friday night and clinched the SAC championship.

The Archers were up six points before a 25-10 second-quarter run put them in control at home.

Ariana Simmons scored 10 points and Brittni Clopton added nine for South Side.

Northrop’s Quila Jackson scored eight points.

CONCORDIA 52, WAYNE 40: DeJour Young’s 20 points paced the Cadets on the road. They were up one before an 18-12 second-quarter run put them in control.

Wayne’s Sh’Toya Sanders had 11 points.

SNIDER 66, BISHOP DWENGER 47: Meredith Shipman scored 26 points to pace the Panthers on the road. She had 12 of the Panthers’ points in an 18-9 game-opening run, and she added seven in a 23-6 second-quarter run.

Bishop Dwenger’s Alyssa Gibson had 16 points.

BISHOP LUERS 75, NORTH SIDE 31: Taya Andrews scored 19 and Schrae Hammock added 18 for the Knights on the road. Allison Butler scored 16.

North Side’s Sierra Miranda scored 14.

LAKEWOOD 75, KINGS ACADEMY 11: Nicole Faur scored 15 points and Suzanne Grimm added 14 to lead Lakewood.

ADAMS CENTRAL 49, HERITAGE 47, OT: Isaac Luginbill’s 15 points in Monroe paced the Flying Jets. Dalton Combs added 14.

SOUTHERN WELLS 57, SOUTH ADAMS 45: Mathre Harvey scored 18 points and Jagger Love added 17 for the Raiders in Poneto.

WEST NOBLE 68, FAIRFIELD 57: Drew Schermerhorn’s 22 points paced the Chargers in Ligonier.

CARROLL 55, BELLMONT 28: Mason Miller had 26 points and Chandler White added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Chargers at home.

NORTH SIDE 85, BISHOP LUERS 76: Oosha Mitchell scored 21 points and Mike Davis added 19 for the Redskins at home. They opened the game with a 26-15 run.

The Knights’ James Blackmon Jr. had 27 points and Vijay Blackmon added 20.

WARSAW 67, NORTHWOOD 51: Jared Bloom had 22 points in Warsaw for the Tigers. Jordan Stookey added 17.
