Driver in the buff has police in huff

– Western Indiana police say they arrested a nude motorist who crashed his car into a squad car after a police chase across the city of Terre Haute.

James August Hartmann, 58, was arrested Thursday on preliminary charges that include public indecency, drunken driving and resisting law enforcement, authorities said.

The Tribune-Star reports that police sought out Hartmann after a delivery driver reported that a nude man had exposed himself from within his car.

Terre Haute police say Hartmann then drove off, leading police on a pursuit that ended when he crashed his vehicle into a police car in the parking lot of Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
