Weather statement issued

The National Weather Service issued this statement Saturday:

"A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will likely develop Sunday afternoon across areas especially west of Interstate 69. A mix of sleet and freezing rain is then expected to overspread the remainder of northeast Indiana, south central lower Michigan and northwest Ohio Sunday evening.

"The wintry mix is expected to changeover to all rain from southwest to northeast during the night. There is still uncertainty as to the timing of the changeover to rain and the amount of any potential ice accumulation. However current indications suggest the wintry mix will change over to all rain for areas roughly south of route 30 during the mid to late evening and across the remainder of the area during the overnight hours.

"Anyone traveling across the region Sunday and Sunday night should keep up on the latest forecasts concerning the potential of mixed wintry precipitation."
