Ind. police find 4 children in home with meth lab

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — State police have arrested a Bloomington couple on drug charges after officers allegedly found an active meth lab in their home along with four of their five children.

Twenty-seven-year old Joshua Lee Scroggins and 21-year-old Misty Brooke Chambers were arrested Wednesday on multiple drug and neglect charges. They're being held on bond at the Monroe County Jail.

The Herald-Times reports officers found four children between the ages of 5 months and 4 years inside the duplex along with hazardous chemicals used for making meth.

The couple's fifth child was not inside the home. All of the youngsters were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services after being checked out for possible inhalation or contamination illnesses from exposure to the chemicals.
