Chase nets stolen-pickup suspect

Brubaker

A Warsaw man was arrested Tuesday morning after leading troopers on a chase in a stolen pickup truck, according to the Indiana State Police.

The pursuit of the truck, a red 2001 Dodge, started in Kosciusko County near Indiana 19 and County Road 100 South. It ended after a few minutes near Apple Road and 19th Road in Marshall County when the fleeing driver crashed, police said.

The driver, later identified as Aaron K. Brubaker, 29, then fled on foot, police said. Officers established a perimeter and began searching for Brubaker.

Minutes later, officers found Brubaker hiding in a shed, police said. He was charged with auto theft and resisting law enforcement. He also faces a theft charge for allegedly stealing from a Warsaw liquor store, police said.

Brubaker was being held Wednesday at the Kosciusko County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
